The project was designed to pilot in a single area, before being progressively implemented across other teams. The formal launch of the project provided opportunities to bring everyone together.
Key individuals involved in the project and workers from the pilot site shared a vision about the project and how it could best be implemented. Most staff had already attended the preparatory training for Collaborative Conversations, Risk Model and Effective Child Protection. The launch provided an opportunity for a brief workshop to recap on the ‘Measure’ element of the Effective Child Protection model. This reinforced the process and techniques for developing the ‘Steps to change,’ reminding everyone of the sequence for how to best identify the steps. The launch proved a symbolic opportunity to start the project in ceremonial fashion. Heidi Rylance, Team Manager of Meirion Dwyfor and Wendy Roberts, Practice Transformation Lead cut a cake designed around the project logo. Crumbs! Some of the evidence of the ceremony seems to have been lost.
