Project presentation to the North Wales Regional Transformation Board

Sharing the vision and learning has been at the heart of this project from the beginning.  Dafydd Paul, Project Lead was invited to present to the Children Transformation Board.  The Board had supported this project and this was an opportunity to provide them with an update about its progress.

This was also an opportunity to discuss the ideas behind the project to representatives from all agencies and hear some of their suggestions.  Largely the project is based on the key statutory functions in child protection of a Local Authority but it impacts on other agencies involved in the safeguarding system.  Colleagues in public and third sectors were provided with an understanding of the project’s vision and in particular it’s aspiration to transform practice.  The strategic link of the project to the Healthier Wales agenda was presented and discussed.  Of interest was the dilemma of how difficult it was to measure projects that were transformational in nature.  It was difficult not to revert to the status quo ideas about measures and indicators; contrasting with the experiential learning nature of innovative projects such as Effective Child Protection.  The presentation was warmly received and the Board’s support emphasised.  Some authorities expressed their interest in visiting the project and seeing what we were doing.
